January thru April is
High Point
’s strongest rental months. If you are a homeowner and rent your home out, please keep in mind that it is YOUR RESPONSIBILITY, to contact the office and confirm the requirement for your tenant. Merely taking the word of your prospective tenant that they have either rented for years or had lived here forever is not sufficient. The By-laws of this community require the homeowner to provide the office with a copy of their rental agreement PRIOR to renting. At that time if a background check is required the property owner will be advised.
This information can be found on page 9 of the new By-law book and if you don’t have a copy please either stop by the office or give us a call and we will be glad to provide one. As always if you have questions about this or anything else please call the office.
On a sadder note I must advise you that my assistant, Shirley Rathbone, has decided to retire. Shirley has been with the
High Point
family for 6 years. We will all miss her dearly, however, now she will have the time to golf, take trips, visit family and SLEEP IN! I would like to take this time to welcome her replacement, Audrey Resetar.

The Travel Club is on the move during the winter season. We went to see the Full Monty at the Show Palace dinner Theatre and it was a great show. In April we will be going to see Kiss Me Kate at the Show Palace Dinner Theatre.
We have a Mystery Trip planned for February and in March we will be going to the Strawberry Festival in
Plant City
. We are also going to the races at Tampa Bay Downs in March to see the “Sport of Kings” horse racing. In April, we are going to the Cedar Key Arts & Crafts Festival.
Come on out and see what we are up to!
We meet on the 2nd and 4th Thursday of each month at 11:00 am in the clubhouse.

Now that all of our snowbirds are back we find that we also have all of our snowdogs back. Those doggies have been observed walking their masters along the highways and byways of
High Point
and some disconcerting things have been witnessed. DOGGIE DODO! We all love our doggies but please do not leave doggy business on other folk’s property. Carry your handy dandy scooper and baggie. Your neighbors will appreciate you and also love you doggie.
It is that time of year again when the oranges are falling from the trees and this can bring fruit rats. Take a look at your yard and make sure the fruit is removed in a timely manner.
Please help us help you. If you have any questions or concerns regarding the restriction of this community please do not hesitate to call your rules and enforcement representative.
End Credit Card Offers: The Federal Trade Commission can help you opt out of receiving prescreened credit card offers through the mail for five years, or permanently. Call toll-free 1-888-567-8688 or visit www.optoutprescreen.com for details.
It’s time to take a look around your home for MOLD. There are numerous homes and driveway within the community that are currently in need of pressure washing. There have been several inquiries at the office regarding the mold and mildew concerns. If you require assistance with this project please contact the office for a list of vendors. If you are able to help a neighbor with this project it will be greatly appreciated.
Bleach is an easy and inexpensive ways of removing mold/mildew from your drive way. Simply let the bleach set on the driveway for several minutes and then rinse with water.
AARP will be in the community center beginning on February 6 and ending on April 9, 2008, from 9:00 am until 1:00 pm. This tax preparation service is provided free of charge and is on a first come first serve basis.
Newspaper recycling has come to

Membership Drive is ON!!!
I was very disappointed at the small number of members that showed up at the January 17, 2008 meeting. Plans were made for potluck brunches, parties. Teams were in place for putting in new plants and other activities and we sure could use your help. The next membership meeting will be held on February 21, 2008 at 10:30 am. There will be bingo and share the wealth. We will also be discussing our annual picnic to be held in March.
Congratulations to the February Beauty Spots:
Ken & Victoria Thompson at
