It’s that time of year again when some of our snowbirds will be leaving us soon. There are 3 things the office would like you to remember before leaving. 1.) Please make sure the office has your correct mailing address before you leave. Don’t count on the post office forwarding your mail. 2.) Make sure your emergency contact sheet is up to date. 3.) Fill out one of the Mobile Patrol’s House watch forms. They are available at the front gate as well as the office.

COME JOIN US!! Happy Traveling!!!
Well the Travel Club is on the move, we went on a mystery trip on 2/27/08 to
Ocala
. We went to the New England Shire Centre with lunch at the Horse and Hound restaurant. What a great day out! The New England Shire Centre is a breeding and training facility for a breed of horse called a “Shire”. They are the largest breed of draft horse in the world, not only are they beautiful but they are very people friendly. Our group was introduced to Hercules the largest Shire alive.
The travel club will be going to the Tampa Bay Downs for the “Sport of Kings” on 3/14/08. We have trips planned for Lowery Park Zoo, with lunch at the spaghetti warehouse. Trips to Cedar Key arts festival, the early bird dinner theatre and
Myrtle Beach, S.C.
So come on out and see what else we have planned. We meet the 2nd and 4th Thursday of each month at 11:00 am in our community center, except the month of August. So come join the fun.

What are Deed Restrictions: As you approach the entrance to “HighPoint” take note of the sign that reads, “This is a Deed Restricted Community”. As a homeowner you must understand that deed restrictions are put in place to make our community a better place to live and to maintain our property values.
We have available in the office a copy of our covenants, restrictions and by-laws. This booklet has a wealth of information and is a must read for every homeowner.
Our committee works hard to keep up with the many infractions that are reported. It is your responsibility as a homeowner to maintain the
exterior of your home in a neat, clean, orderly and sanitary condition. This is to include your carport. Look at your home from your neighbors view point. It is everyone’s responsibility to read and comply with the document of this community. Let’s all work together to make our Highpoint Community a “
Proud Place to Live”
Our Share A Craft Ladies are collecting various articles for our soldiers. There are containers in various areas for donations. You can also drop off your donations at the front office. We need several different items, especially peanut butter, hot chocolate packets, cookies, and Pringles containers for packing homemade goodies. If you can help our share craft ladies out, this would be great. I know our soldiers really appreciate this. What a great cause. Thanks ladies and all who have donated.
Pool News by Kathleen Cerro, Senior Monitor
In March our pool hours are from 10:00 am – 5:00 pm. The water temperature must be 80 degrees for water aerobic classes to take place, anything under 80 degrees is har0000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000mful.
Classes will be scheduled at 11:00 am on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Classes will also be at 3:30 pm on Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday.
Aquatic workouts are a refreshing change for anyone seeking low impact stress reducing exercise. Due to the forces at work in the water, resistance is 12 or more times greater than on land. What this means for water fitness participants is a more time-efficient cardiovascular workout.
So I hope to see you at the pool. Remember the pool people are the cool people.

St. Patrick’s Day
St. Patrick’s Day is celebrated on March 17. It falls during the Christian season of Lent.
St. Patrick is the patron saint of
Ireland
. Born in
Britain
to wealthy parents. He is believed to have died on March 17 around 460 AD. His father was a Christian deacon. At the age of 16, Patrick was taken prisoner by Irish soldier who attacked his family’s estate. They transported him to
Ireland
where he spent 6 yrs in captivity. During this time he worked as a Shepard outdoors and away from people. Lonely and afraid he turned to his religion for solace and became a devout Christian. After 6 years as a prisoner, Patrick escaped and had a dream that God spoke to him telling him to leave
Ireland
. Then Patrick had another dream believing God had spoken to him to return to
Ireland
and became a missionary.
The Shamrock which is also called the seamroy by the Celts. It was a sacred plant in ancient
Ireland
and symbolizes the rebirth of spring. And that is
where we get the Shamrock.
Happy
St.
Patrick’s Day!
