COME JOIN US!! Happy Traveling!!!
Hello to All High Pointers:
Well Spring has sprung and our winter visitors are heading back up north. We wish them all a safe journey. The Travel Club was saddened by the passing of Ralph Talone. Lorraine Talone was the president of the Travel Club for over 20 years. We also lost Marge Hagan the same week. Our deepest sympathy is extended to both of their families. The travel club is working on some new projects for the summer months.
A boat trip with lunch is one and we are trying to
get enough people to go to Catfish Johnny’s on July 17th. They offer good food and entertainment. Mother’s Day, we will be going to the Palace Grand for The New Dawn Singers and on May 25th to the
Show
Palace
for the show “Sugar Babies”. We have a baseball game scheduled for June 30th between the Rays and
Boston
. So come on out and see what is up with the Travel Club. We meet the 2nd and 4th Thursday of each month except August, hope to see you there.

It was so nice to see everyone’s family, friends and guests enjoying themselves at the pool during spring break. We’ve been very busy. Velma is working on the pictures from the pool party. They will be out soon. Don’t forget each resident is entitled to one free guest pass a year, after a purchased guest pass is stamped in full with the duck. Water aerobics will be at 10 am in May. Remember our water aerobic luncheon will be on Wednesday May 28th, following class. See you at the pool.

Garden Club by Lynn Trotter
If you’re looking for a plant that never stops blooming even when the weather gets hot and humid, try the Calibrachoa or Million Bells. This plant produces an abundance of miniature petunia shaped blooms but unlike the petunia it won’t falter by mid-summer. They thrive in full sun to partial shade in well-drained soil with average moisture. Feed them with an all purpose liquid fertilizer every 7 to 10 days and you will have non-stop blooms until the first hard frost. There is a wide range of colors available and some of the new cultivars have been designed to grow 36 inches long.
Our winter resident farewell pot luck was held April 17 at 10:30 a.m. Lots of food, raffles, and share the wealth, fun was had by all. The next meeting will be May 15, at 10:30 a.m., come out and join us for coffee and bingo. This will be our last meeting until Oct 16th.

Preparing your home for summer absence:
When you leave to go up north please stop by the front office and let us know. Here are some helpful hints when you leave: Clean out your refrigerator; recycle newspaper, bottles and aluminum cans. Notify your neighbor, the front office and Mobile Patrol. Have security lights on along with inside security lights with a timer. Unplug all electrical items except the ones that will be used while you are gone, such as air conditioning (clean filter) and any security lights. Clean dishwasher thoroughly. Pour a cup of chlorine bleach into toilet bowl and flush 3 or 4 times to clear any debris. Open closet doors & dresser drawers so air circulates.
Did you know?
All golf carts are to be registered with either the HP Golf Club if you are a member or the HPCPO office if you are not. Once you register you will be given the number and information on how to
display that number on your cart. Also keep in mind this is the time of year when family and friends visit. It is against the law to allow anyone under the age of 14 to operate a cart. These are county roads and we have been given a privilege, abusing it will lose it for EVERYONE!
Always remember to secure your golf cart, if you’re going up north don’t leave it outside. We have been advised by the Sheriffs Dept that Brookridge has had several carts stolen.
