Correspondence from our
CAM
It was with deep regret that the Board accepted the resignation of Jack Lafferty at the meeting on Tuesday, March 25, 2008. We would like to take this opportunity to thank Jack for all his hard work and dedication while serving his community as a director. Florida Statutes mandate that the Board fill this vacancy and in doing so will not only be looking to the candidates that ran in the 2007 election, but also wish to look to the community. Anyone who is an eligible member of
High Point
is asked to submit a bio to the office no later than 3:00pm on April 17, 2008. Please don’t hesitate to contact the office should you have any questions at 596-2397.
I would like to wish all our snowbirds a safe trip home and a great summer!

COME JOIN US!! Happy Traveling!!!
Hello All High Pointers:
Well the Travel Club is going to see “Kiss Me
Kate” at the Show Palace Dinner Theatre on April
6th. I have seen the show and it was great but
sitting on those chairs for the 1 hr. and 20 min. the first act was “Rear End” numbing! The seats at the
Show
Palace
are just not made for that. The Travel Club is heading for Cedar Key on April 12th for the Cedar Key Arts Festival and we are going to the early bird dinner theatre for “Run for Your Wife” on April 17th. We are also going to the
International
Museum
for “The Vatican Exhibit” May 7th. We will be seeing The New Dawn Singers at the Palace Grand for Mother’s Day May 11th.The Travel Club will be on the move throughout the summer so come on out and see what we are up to! We are going on a Panama Canal Cruise from
Ft.
Lauderdale
to
Acapulco
on Feb. 9th 2009. We have limited space so get signed up early for this one. The Travel Club meets the 2nd and 4th Thursday of each month except August at 11:00 a.m. we meet in the community center, hope to see you there.

(Community Emergency Response Team)
One Missed But Not Forgotten
Mr. Timothy McCue was inadvertently left off the list of graduates of the Cert Class. So congratulations to Tim for completing his class and welcome to Cert. You have an opportunity to become part of a nationwide organization. You will be trained to assist folks in your community (
High Point
and up North). This program is for any emergency that presents itself from hurricanes, tornados, floods, train wrecks, vehicle accidents or falls. Who is going to help if emergency responders are delayed? You can be trained to respond rather than to be overwhelmed. We have less than 50 trained personnel (which include HP Fire Dept.) for over 1,600 homes. You have a chance to be a part of the help or one of the victims.
Emergency Management offers the 3 hour classes over a seven week period.
For an application or other information, please call:
CJ 597-3588.

Spring is in the air! Let’s get those yards in shape.
Our annual picnic was Thursday March 20th at Deltona Woods. The weather cooperated for us to have a good time with games, cash bingo and plenty of food. The farewell pot luck brunch will be Thursday April 17th at 10:30 a.m. to say good-by to our winter members.
Congratulations to the April Beauty Spots

Have your seen it?
We now have a new dog park thanks to the efforts of Director Tom Anderson and former director Jack Lafferty. It is abutting the RV compound. There are a few rules posted at the unlocked gate to keep this area safe and clean. Dogs must be supervised at all times, owners are responsible for damages. They must have current vaccinations and county licenses. Please use the receptacle for animal waste and keep in mind that no one under the age of 14 is allowed in this area. Enjoy this area and please take care of it. If driving to this area please make sure you park on the compound side and not on someone’s lawn.

I would like to thank all the homeowners that I observed pressure washing their driveways and homes. What joy it is to see homeowners taking pride in their property. Perhaps your neighbor would like his home to look like the others in the neighborhood, however due to illness, disability or lack of funds he or she is unable to keep up their property as they would like to.
Reach out with a helping hand, “Neighbor helping Neighbor”. Lets all work together to make this a community we can all be proud of!
We have had numerous complaints regarding our pet restrictions. Since we now have a dog park please don’t let your dog run loose, take them to the park! Please keep in mind that the golf course is not a dog park. This is private property and not to be used to walk your dog.
