Now more than ever the
High Point
family needs to work together. You don’t have to be best friends with your neighbor to be a good neighbor. Just be observant of your surroundings. County wide there are break-ins, fraudulent acts and the list goes on. If every homeowner became more observant of their neighbors and surroundings for strange activities, such as unkempt property (that had never been a problem before), newspapers piling up on driveways, etc., you could advise the office. Most importantly if you see strange activity do not call the front gate, Mobile Patrol or wait until the office opens. CALL 911. We would all be working together as a responsible community to keep
High Point
not only beautiful but safe. With this in mind check our Mobile Patrol’s annual “Night Out” on 8/5/08 @ 6 pm.

Pool News
By Kathleen Cerro, Senior Pool Monitor:
The summer is going by quickly and we have all had a lot of fun in the water.
The 4th of July celebration was a great success, consisting of approximately 50 children and their grandparents.
Water aerobics continues to grow and we all have a lot of fun and laughs as we get fit. Our Luncheon was rained out but we were able to have it the following day, to share a treat or sample a recipe or two. We deserve it after all our hard work. Thanks to all who participated. It was delicious.
Pool hours for August are 8 am – 8 pm and will change in September to 9 am – 7 pm. Water aerobic class will stay at 9:30 am. Come join the fun. See you at the poolJ
Garden Club by Lynn Trotter
It’s Hot!!! Heat tolerant annuals can be planted now for color until the first frost. The best choices are: Coleus, Impatiens, Marigolds, and Wax Begonia. The end of August, if you have Poinsettias, lightly prune them one last time for colorful bracts for the holidays.
Congratulations to the August Beauty Spots

Mobile Patrol by Ed Oleszek
Tuesday August 5, 2008 National “Night Out and
Light Up.”
This nationwide event is to get the word out to our community of our commitment of ridding our neighborhoods of potential crime as we work with the Sheriffs Dept.
Mobile Patrol is providing a southern style BBQ with fixings from 6 to 8 pm, for the
High Point
Community, then at 8 pm thru dark the mobile patrol will drive thru the entire community with lights flashing reminding everyone to turn on outside porch lights at night, and to be alert and safe.
Let us remember, Memorial Day 5/26/08!
Our Mobile Patrol had a Potluck dinner.
Thanks to
High Point
residents for providing delicious side dishes, Mobile Patrol for home cooked turkey and ham and Shelia Kirk and Sandra
Peeters for the great cakes. The
High Point
board
for their help with decorating and more! A special thanks to Mary Reber and her assistant Harold who ran this event with great success. Comments from the community were quite positive. Clay Kirk sang, and then Ellen Shulmier played organ music for us during the gourmet experience! Thanks to all that helped.
