RENTERS! RENTERS! RENTERS!
It’s that time of the year again to remind homeowners who intend on renting their home some of the basic rules that must be followed:
1. It is YOUR responsibility to contact the office PRIOR to your rental agreement being signed. All too often we hear, “but we’ve rented here for years……..” upon checking the file we have absolutely no paperwork from the owner advising they would be renting the home.
2. Renters are required to do and pass a background check and meet the 55+ age requirements.
3. Leases can be for no less than 90 days nor longer than a year at a time.
On that note, keep in mind that any guests (that includes family) who are residing in your home for more than 90 days are required to do a background check. As always please contact the office should you have any doubts or questions and we will be happy to assist you.
Travel Club by Trey Jordan
Happy New Year to all High Pointers
The holiday season is behind us and we hope everyone had a great time. We are now into a New Year and boy does the time go by fast.
The Travel Club is going on a “Mystery Trip” on Jan. 7th and to “Sleuth’s Mystery Dinner Show” on Feb. 11th. This will be an evening show so get signed up if you haven't, because the show is great and the meal is wonderful. We are planning a trip to Tampa Bay Downs in the near future and a multi-day trip to Charleston and Savannah in March. We have a trip planned for Maine and New Hampshire in the fall, October 2009. So come on out and see what the travel club is up to. We meet the 2nd and 4th Thursday of each month at 11:00 a.m. in our club house.
Mobile Patrol by Ed Oleszek
Let’s not forget some of those helpful crime stoppers ideas from 2008.
1. Keep alert when shopping.
2. Ladies keep your purse with you at all
times.
3. Always lock your vehicle.
4. Secure all items around your home.
5. Keep an eye on your neighbors home for
excess newspaper, phone books and
anything else that collects in the driveway.
Keeping them clean helps deter the look of
someone not living there.
Let’s keep High point safe and secure.
