Travel Club by Trey Jordan
The travel club has slowed down for the summer months, but we still have a few events coming up.  In June we are going to Capone’s dinner show, located in Orlando, Fl.  This is like the old Speakeasy, where you have to know the password in order to gain entry.  You are a part of the mystery too!  This is an evening performance and the cost is $53.00.
In July we will be going on a mystery trip.  These trips are always fun because you do not know where you are going or what you are going to be doing.  Lunch is included with this trip and the total cost is $47.00 per person.  In August we are planning a baseball game.  We will give you more information on that later on.  So come on out and see what the travel club is up to.  We meet the 2nd and the 4th Thursday of every month in our Community Center at 11 am.  Hope to see you there.

Mobile Patrol by Ed Oleszek
Safety Awareness:
To all residents, when leaving the High Point Community be aware of a few dangerous spots while driving out toward Rt. 50.
1.  Pay attention to people stopping to mail
letters or pick up a newspaper.
2.  Look both ways at the intersection just
before Rt. 50 on the left side where  CiCi’s
Pizza, the Legion and other stores that are
in that plaza are located. Then look to the
right for cars and trucks coming from the
     Medical buildings.
3.  Finally, when you get to the stop light at
Rt. 50, before you go on the green light
look both ways for cars and trucks trying
to make it thru the light.  We have had
several problems at both of these

  intersections.
Be alert.  Believe me it’s worth your life.
Take your time and look around.
  Be Careful.  Be Safe.

Garden Club by President, Lynn Trotter
High Point’s lawns are looking green again,      thanks to the much needed rain from the last 2 weeks.  Please remember when mowing your lawn to leave the grass at least 3 inches long.  Also leave the grass clippings as they recycle nutrients to the lawn.
The full time club members will do the best they can to keep flowers blooming around High Point during the coming summer months as most of our members are only here during the winter.  It would be wonderful if you see us planting, pruning, or decorating; you can stop and give us a helping hand, which we would appreciate very much.
The Garden Club wishes all Fathers a Happy Father’s Day.  Hope everyone had a great Memorial Day weekend.
Congratulations to the June Beauty spots:

Pool News by Kathleen Cerro
Boy are we ever in our rainy season, and with the rain comes thunder and lightning.  Please listen to your pool monitors when asked to leave the pool area.  Under no circumstances should anyone stay in the pool area when thunder is heard.  This is for everyone’s own safety.  They say if you can hear the thunder, the lightning can reach you.
The pool monitors will reopen the pool area 30 minutes after the last thunder is heard.  Listen: if you can hear thunder the pool is closed.
Thanks to the water aerobics ladies for their contribution of flowers for our garden outside of the pool area.  It really looks beautiful.  We have had many compliments.
Pool hours for June, July & August are 8 am – 8 pm.  Hope to see you at the pool. 4th of July Festivities
