Travel Club by Trey Jordan
The summer heat is here! If you have to go outside at all you know what I am talking about. That is why the Travel club does indoor activities during the summer season. For July we are going to see Arabian Nights on the 14th for an afternoon
performance. They are celebrating the princess’s birthday! This is a new show and a new menu so it should be a great show. The price is $45.00 per person. July 27th we have a
baseball game at Tropicana Field with the Rays vs. NY. This should be an exciting game. The price is $47.00 per person. We are also going to have a “Mystery trip” on July 29th which
includes lunch for $47.00 per person! The fun thing about these trips is that you have no idea where you are going or what you are going to do! If you are interested in any of these trips, please get signed up now.
The travel club meets the 2nd and 4th Thursday of every month
at 11:00 am in our community center. Come on out and see what your friends and neighbors are doing with the “Travel Club”. Be sure to check with us on some of the great cruises we have going for 2010.
Mobile Patrol by Ed Oleszek
Its summer and our numbers have dwindled, so it is most important that we are extra
vigilant to protect what is ours inside and outside, as well as checking on our neighbors. Just because it’s quiet and peaceful does not
mean crime is not out there!
When in doubt call 911!!
Be cool and stay safe this summer.
High Point Golf Club by Katie Russell
The Club House café is open to everyone. Our summer hours and menu are shortened. Please sign up for one of our Tuesday or Friday evening dinners (this helps us to have plenty of food for everyone). Doug has great rib specials, turkey dinners & fried chicken. Try it once and you will agree.
Happy 4th of July. Come join the fun at the High Point Golf
Club, we will be serving lunch from 11 am to 2 pm:
Hamburgers & Chips $3.50
Hot Dog & Chips $2.50
Sundays Single dip $1.50
Double dip $2.00
Bar Specials:
Bloody Mary’s $1.50
Mimosa’s $1.50
Ice Cold Draft $1.00
Regular fountain and mixed drinks.
So come in and enjoy our air conditioned lounge; visit with your neighbors and friends.
Remember that if you are a resident, non-member of the Golf Club, you may golf all Summer with a member. Greens fees apply. Try out the course; you may realize that we have the best deal going on in the whole county.
Garden Club by President, Lynn Trotter
Happy 4th of July!!!
Summer has arrived in High Point. Wow!! Is it hot.
Hot weather annuals for color in your garden are: Coleus, Marigolds, Salvia, Wax Begonias. This is a good month to prune and shape plants like: Azaleas, and Camellias. Avoid using a hedge trimmer which will result in poor form.
Sorry to report the Garden Club will not participate in the July 4th parade this year. Just don’t have any volunteers to decorate
their golf cart or use mine.
Because I will be in the parade with the Board of Directors, I can’t do both.
Congratulations to the July beauty spots:
Harold & Judith Middleton
9106 High Point Blvd.
and
Robert & Rosemary Winslow
7144 Fairlane Ave.
