Garden Club by Ellie Martin
Right Plant, Right Place
Plants selected to suit a specific site will require
minimal amounts of water, fertilizers & pesticides.
Water Efficiently
Irrigate only when your lawn and landscape needs
water. Efficient watering is the key to a healthy
Florida yard & conservation of limited resources.
Fertilize Appropriately
Less is often best. Overuse of fertilizers can be
hazardous to your landscape and the environment.
On March 18th we will have a guest speaker at our Garden Club meeting at 10:30 am in the Community Center. Our speaker is going to discuss bugs, good and bad.
The Easter memorial drive is in full gear. We are asking for a $10.00 donation in memory of a loved one for our annual Easter cross at the information booth which will be up before Good Friday. Bring your donation to the office with your name and the name of your loved one. The office will put it in my mail slot. These donations will help purchase the Easter Lily’s to make the Easter cross. The deadline is March 26th.

Safety Awareness:
Just a reminder to all residents, especially those who are having friends and relatives coming here to visit. When leaving the High Point community be aware of a few dangerous spots while driving in or out toward Rt. 50.
Pay attention to people stopping to mail letters or pick up a newspaper.
Be aware of vehicles coming into the road from Medical Center on the right and American Legion on the left.
Finally, when you get to the stop light at Rt. 50, before you go on the green light, look both ways for cars and trucks trying to make it thru the light. Also be aware of the vehicles that are across the road coming into High Point or turning. We have had several problems at both of these intersections. Be Alert. Take your time, don’t rush & look around.

Community Relations by Ginger Flynn
Greetings!
A word about lawns. I have observed a few lawns in need of cutting, not so much because of grass, but because the weeds are starting to grow. Please be conscious of this and make sure that lawns are maintained to keep our community looking good.
Once again there have been numerous concerns raised about cleaning up after pets. Even those of us who are dog lovers do not appreciate dodging little piles while walking on the boulevard or picking up “presents” left on our lawns by other dogs. In some cases, we have received complaints about odor from neighboring yards due to failure to pick up after dogs that are confined to their own property. This will only become worse as the weather warms up. Please be considerate of your neighbors in this regard. It is not only a rule of High Point, but also Hernando County statute. Your neighbors will thank you and your pets will be loved by all!
