Welcome to Summer:
We hope our year round residents are  finally enjoying some warm weather after having our first real winter here, in a long time.

The travel club went to Atlanta in March and everyone had a great time.  In April we went to see the Davinci Exhibit at Mosi, with lunch at the Collonade in Tampa.  In May we have a trip going  to the Mission Inn for lunch with a stop at the Yalaha German Bakery, then on to the White House exhibit and Citrus Tower.  We also have a baseball game for the 25th of May, Rays vs. Boston for $48.00 which includes the bus and the game.   July  27th, 28th & 29th  we have a summer getaway to Ft. Golf Club News by Katie Russell

It’s getting quieter here at High Point as our friends from the North all return to their summer homes.  We, who live here year round, are looking forward to those lazy, crazy, hazy days of summer!!
Did you know that from May 1st to September 1st you can golf at High Point Golf Club.  You MUST golf as a guest of a member, but it is a great way to try the course and not have to drive elsewhere ($16.00 for 18 holes) I cannot say it enough,  WE HAVE THE BEST GOLFING PRICES IN THE AREA.
We will have shortened café hours in the restaurant this summer, so please check to see what the hours may be.  Come in and enjoy a cold beer, a soft drink, or a mixed drink of your choice at the bar.  The Golf Club would like to thank all it’s members for their continued support & would like to invite anyone interested in becoming a member to please contact Katie Russell at 597-2538.
* A reminder, The Golf Course is private property.  There have been several reports of people riding bikes, walking dogs, motor scooters, or playing without paying.  Please respect the golf course as you would want your private property to be respected.

Garden Club by Ellie Martin:
Helpful hints for a Florida-Friendly Landscape:
Recycle
Grass clippings, leaves & yard trimmings recycled on-site provide nutrients to the soil & reduce waste disposal when reused on the landscape.
Reduce Storm water Runoff:
Water running off your landscape can carry pollutants such as soil, debris, fertilizer, gasoline & pesticides that can adversely impact water quality.  Reduction of this runoff will help prevent nonpoint-source pollution.
Protect the Waterfront
Waterfront property, whether on a river, stream, pond, bay or beach, is very fragile & should be carefully protected to maintain freshwater & marine ecosystems.

Mobile Patrol by Ed Oleszek
Subject:  Safety & Security
What’s your hurry?
What’s the rush?
In the past few weeks the sheriff’s dept. has let me know that there have been many vehicles stopped and warnings issued because of driving over the speed limit.  There have also been several accidents during this same period of time.
Unmarked sheriff’s cars are driving our streets to help our mobile patrol protect the people walking our streets during the day and at night with their pets.
For those of you that are not stopping at stop signs, driving over the speed limit & or not caring about people on our streets.  Be careful who’s following your vehicle, it might be the Sheriff’s Dept.  Lets all slow down & help our HP Community be safe.

Pool News by Kathleen Cerro, Sr. Pool Monitor:
Our spring pool party was a great success, thanks to all who participated.  More than 100 people attended.  Water aerobics at 10 am has taken off to a great start.  The water temperature in the morning is an average of 84—86 degree which is perfect for Hydrotherapy.  Remember in June, July & August our pool is open from 8 am to 8 pm. The pool people are the cool people.
